Lost horizons
end of days
when all things are depleted
and nothing remains
all hope is gone
the light diminished
and darkness prevails
civilisations breath
as precious as a fallen star
can we hold onto what is lost
passages of the skies
Lost horizons
end of days
when all things are depleted
and nothing remains
all hope is gone
the light diminished
and darkness prevails
civilisations breath
as precious as a fallen star
can we hold onto what is lost
passages of the skies
starry sky
twinkly night
shining bright
like torches
a beacon of hope
we follow them
to distant lands
may we always be here
to see them
as our planet grows
to reach the stars
may they shine back at us
as we are one of them
the lone fisherman
waits near the waters edge
contemplates the changing weather
is immersed in nature
but is not alone
waiting for the fishes
to be apart of something
other than oneself
and let your soul wonder
into the net of hope
Turn to face me
one last time
so I can remember
the remark you made
still haunts me
as do these long days
without you
light of heaven
speak to me
banish the demons
that lay within
let them show me
the need to be
as time passes
relieve the symptoms
make amends
make anew
peace be with you
and love always
thunder clouds
as darkness descends
surrounding me
enveloping my heart
turning the world inside out
the sound is deafening
like a war zone of nature
beating wind against the sky
turning shapes into nightmares
may all this be passing
as we dream of a new world
take shelter from the gathering storm
we wait for it to pass
but we know in our hearts
fear prevails
as our surroundings darken
a path is found within
to lead us away to safety
what remains
cannot be unbroken
like a child
fragile to begin with
then as strength returns
so shall we find in ourselves
the depth of courage
against disparity
and awaken a truth
a burden of which we carry
the letter
to a lover
a note
left behind
something he will find
reminisce sweet perfume
a kiss or two
love is a notion
as deep as the ocean
swallow
fly away home
always reaching
new destinations
the call of spring rings true
as do the leaves of autumn
when summer has gone
and winter has come
parting of the ways
leave behind sweet memories
of bygone days
flying through the sky
reaching out across the heavens
hear their call
the call of the sea
an essential being
to what ends
are they inland for
scavengers of the skies
