spring is in the air
toads croaking
now the bees
have woken up
setting sun
pink hillside
showing through
my grey hair
bamboo shoots

stem to flower
when spring
meets summer

first day of spring
the birds sing
welcoming the dawn
the nestlings yawn
call of the hoopoe
call of the hoopoe
singing away
through diverse weather
he shall stay
in the spring
she will have eggs to lay
in my garden blissfully
together peacefully
