where there is light
darkness cannot prevail
when there is resolve
the mind can find peace
when one feels remorse
the healing process can begin
If one pursues wealth
their heart will become poor
reaching back to the past
makes us it’s prisoner
relying on technology
makes slaves of us all
what was forgotten
has been consumed by chaos
weilding terror fuelled by flame
their battle cry galvanized
darkness shall prevail
the horror awaits
those who live in fear
of their foreshadowing
Sunlight shines down
brightening the day
casting shadows
across the way
And though these illusions
seem to say
what remains
is here to stay
Objects are placed
to occupy a space
in one case
they replace
Rain falls,
pitter patter on the roof.
Birds flee from the droplets
from under the trees.
The ground is sodden
as the grass becomes greener,
passing clouds wield thunder;
dreams are hidden
in a cloud of memories.
In the garden pristine
to wonder, to dream.
With expectations high;
they take off and fly,
returning once again
to where they remain.
the nest was bare
they were no longer there
where had they gone
shed a tear for them
that is nature’s way
of saying goodbye
as the rain falls silently
blackbirds begin to nest
the spring brings love
with young to cater for
the birds sing throughout the day
there was a girl in Amsterdam
who was quite a fancy
and when she spoke to you
she said her name was Nancy
breaking down these stereotypes
and being a bit pricey
next door to her
they looked a little dicy
walking away I turned back
they had already retreated
the lights had gone out
and my wallet was depleted
